Dr. Joseph Churchill
There is a reason Dr. Joseph Churchill chose dentistry, and it started with a basketball game and two broken front teeth. Growing up in southeastern Connecticut, a fall during a pickup game left him with a smile that seemed beyond repair. His dentist fixed everything, and that experience stuck with him. By the time he was in high school, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life.

Education and Training
Dr. Churchill graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utica College in 2002 with a degree in Biology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2008. During dental school, he was selected for a prestigious two-year research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where he conducted neuroscience research in Bethesda, Maryland.
After completing his DDS, Dr. Churchill completed a post-graduate general dentistry residency at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in New Jersey before beginning a career defined by service.
A Career Built on Service
For over a decade, Dr. Churchill served tribal communities in Nebraska and Washington, including the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, the Ponca Tribe, the Omaha Tribe, and most recently the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe on the Olympic Peninsula. This chapter of his career shaped his philosophy in profound ways. He learned that great dental care is not just about the teeth. It is about the whole person, the relationships they carry, and the community they are part of.

Coming Home to Sequim
Dr. Churchill and his wife Theresa moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 2018 and have been part of the Sequim community ever since. EOM Dental Center is the realization of a long-held dream: to build a practice that reflects their values, serves their neighbors, and brings something genuinely different to the area.

Outside the Office
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Churchill can be found hiking the trails and exploring the beaches of the Olympic Peninsula with his family, practicing capoeira angola, swimming, cycling, or playing chess. He and Theresa have two sons, Lucian and Mathias, who keep life wonderfully full.
